Minutes off Airport Road, Malnichhara is usually called Bangladesh’s oldest commercial tea garden, dated to 1854 by Banglapedia (some accounts say 1849).
Malnichhara covers low hills on the northern edge of Sylhet city. You can walk the estate roads between rows of tea bushes and shade trees, and from spring to late autumn watch the pluckers at work.

Visit between March and November to see tea plucking. The bushes are at their greenest during the rains.
The estate is off Airport Road, 15 minutes from Zindabazar.
You may need permission at the estate gate to enter, and there may be a small admission fee.
This is a working estate, so keep to the roads and ask workers before you photograph them.
