Shimul Bagan
A plantation of silk cotton trees near the Jadukata that turns red with blossom from about mid-February.
At Manigaon in Tahirpur, near the Jadukata, about 3,000 shimul saplings were planted in rows in 2002. In the Bangla months of Falgun and Chaitra, from about mid-February, the branches and the ground beneath turn red with flowers; outside the bloom it is simply a shady grove.
